Books we love - Vol. 1
Top 3 books I'm reading right now or recently finished and LOVED!:
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey
"Life is not a popularity contest. Be brave, take the hill, but first, answer the question, 'What is my hill?'"
I read this book AND listened to it. The audible is amazing because while I think I read it in his voice, hearing him giggle about his own stories was perfection. A man who I was already enthralled with, now I know why. His spirit shines through him as a man and actor and it's fun to know the backstory on the vibrancy we all see.
I'm pretty sure Matthew and I are meant to be best friends, I'm also sure that thinking someone is your best friend without actually knowing them is how stalkers are born. Maybe Mr. McConaughey will read my review and decide we should have coffee.
Ego is the Enemy by Ryan Holiday
"Ego is what keeps you from helping others thrive"
I've read this book twice as well as all of Ryan's other books. I love how he incorporates real life examples and history into his modern day stoicism lessons. One of my favorite writers who also has a great podcast you can find here.
Eat Smarter by Shawn Stevenson
"We all have choices to make that determine our destiny. But, when your options are limited and your environment is not conducive to basic personal health and safety, your ability to make changes is suffocated by the structure itself"
This book is jam packed with crucial information and delivered in a palatable, organized and easy to follow manner. Shawn is a wealth of knowledge and fun to read. I recommend the book version as you will want to take notes, reread and hi light pretty much EVERYTHING! Shawn has a great podcast you can find here.
